Government, programs, policies should NEVER be a burden or impediment to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!
Government needs to step out of the way so people can live and work in a climate of growth and freedom.
When Chris is elected and seated in Congress, he will work to…
to get the economy moving again
stop spending our children’s inheritance
reduce burdensome government regulations that hinder small business
Reverse and Repeal Job-Killing Regulations (Economy and Jobs)
Chris is committed to the power of free enterprise to liberate the entrepreneur in everyone, and restart our economy with a long term solution!
Government is NOT the answer, and never has been. That can be seen from the last several years of stimulus spending which produces nothing but long term debt. Unemployment hasn’t decreased, and unemployment in Georgia District 4 is higher than the national average.
Our district needs Chris to not only be a salesman to promote companies to expand in our District, but to serve in Washington to reduce the regulatory burdens of government and lowering taxes, so business owners can focus on growing and creating jobs… not fighting the red tape that strangles jobs.
Commonsense Healthcare Reform that is Consumer Driven
The greatest Healthcare System in the world didn’t need a disastrous complete reconstruction to better it. It’s evident the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act hasn’t lowered premiums, and will not deliver what was promised. We’ve unfortunately been on a discovery of what was in the Bill, and our Nation is discovering daily the broken promises.
Chris believes that people need commonsense healthcare reform that is customer driven. Chris will vote to defund, repeal, and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Lower Taxes, Cuts in Federal Spending and passing a Balanced Budget Amendment
The last 40 years has seen a Nation drunk on spending. While it would be great to be able to fund all the programs everyone creates, that isn’t reality. The President and Congress have to quit spending and sending our nation further into debt.
Creating more taxes to burden everyone isn’t the answer either. Government rarely sees a tax end, but always finds a way to create more spending.
People need more of the money they work hard for, in tax cuts; and responsible public servants in Washington who will be honest and reduce spending.
Chris too will work hard to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution. If a family has to live within their means, their Government should also!
Pursue our Nation’s vast Energy resources for true Independence and NEW jobs at home
Our nation is a deep well of energy resources, and a key to our national security! As stewards of our nation, we must utilize all of the available resources we have to provide tangible energy independence.
All my life I’ve heard people talk about our nation’s energy policy. We still do not have a policy that is focused on long term solutions to develop our domestic oil, coal, hydro, wind, and bio-fuels, and to do so safely. Chris is committed to that long term process, and also the development of alternative fuels.
Enable Quality Education
Education is a local issue that shouldn’t be hindered by excessive federal control. Chris will work to increase the quality of Education in the 4th District as much as lies within the 4th’s Congressional office, and see a return of control to parents and teachers.
Sanctity of Life
Chris is adamantly pro-life, and believes that the sanctity of human life has to be protected on every level. Believing that life begins at conception and the right to life for the unborn, Chris is a staunch proponent and protector of life… life is too great a gift to be lost. In Congress, Chris will always fight for the cause of life!
Second Amendment
Chris is a gun owner, and supporter of law abiding citizens being able to acquire a Concealed Weapons Permit. Chris doesn’t believe the lawful should be hindered in legal gun ownership, especially since our Constitution protects those rights. Chris will oppose any legislation that seeks to undermine or infringe upon our constitutional right to bear arms.
National Security
The responsibility of government is to protect its citizens, and every Congressman should be ever vigilant to see that our men and women in uniform continue to have the best and need resources, equipment, and training possible to accomplish their mission. Chris believes that as they say in sports, “A good defense is the best offense!” Our National Defense should never be put to political angling for selfish motives; Chris will always put our Nations’ Defense first priority!
Immigration
Our nation, the Great Melting Pot, should never be a divided group of people, but a united group of citizens who proudly proclaim their allegiance to our Country. Our nation has to champion those who properly follow the rules of citizenship or legal visas to be in country.
It’s still evident our nation speaks to those yearning for freedom across the world, but we cannot devalue the costly price of freedom by rewarding those who violate our laws and borders. Those we violate our laws and borders should be held accountable, and our Government should be held responsible to address the issue of border security.
Social Security
Chris believes that the covenant of Social Security between our nation and our seniors whose terms should be safeguarded. If a man or nation will not honor their word to those who have provided so much, our efforts will all be in vain to secure our liberty.
Chris believes that spending in Washington has put Social Security in jeopardy and that the first step to solving Social Security’s problems is to get spending under control and the economy back on track. Republicans and Democrats both should commit to meaningful, bipartisan reform for the Social Security system that protects the promise of Social Security for the American people.
Veterans
Our nation owes an eternal debt to those who have paid the price for protecting the freedoms we enjoy… and that gratitude is due to our Veterans. Our responsibility as a nation now is more important than ever with so many fronts in the War on Terror. We MUST uphold our covenant of honor to those in Uniform, and provide the Veterans Administration our support in addressing the needs of our heroic servants.
